Summer & Midnight Sun

At some point in May, the sun decides not to set for the next 2-3 months over Lapland. This is called the Midnight Sun, or Nightless Night. In addition to increasing the hours of usable daylight, it also bathes the nighttime hours in delicious golden light. Landscapes are green, as the trees, bushes, grass and everything in between goes through a mad growth spurt. Rivers and lakes are warm, free of ice and full of fish, swimmers and boaters.
