From late August until mid-April, the night skies over Lapland are host to a cosmic fireworks show. Occurring about every other night in Lapland, the Northern Lights swirl and sway across the stars. In autumn, they reflect off the dark waters. The magical auroras grow softer in winter, as snowfall whitens and lightens the landscapes. Northern Lights are often green, but violet and red auroras are not impossible, especially during periods of strong solar activity.
